When pneumonia is diagnosed, nursing home staff should administer treatment – which usually involves antibiotics – as soon as possible.
If a nursing home fails to follow these practices, and a resident develops pneumonia, then that facility may be liable for any consequences. This means the nursing home may be responsible for medical bills, out-of-pocket expenses, and related pain and suffering.
